Blessed New Year! 2016 is a year of increase for our Children’s Ministries! Sunday School classes will begin a new series called the “LOVE” series by Aileen Foos. With this series we will focus on Christ’s love, our love for others and self love.
Kid-Mo has taken on a new identity as “Kingdom Kids!” Classes have been dubbed as the following, PK-K “Kingdom Kids” 1st-2nd “His Courts” and 3rd-5th “Royals.” During the month of December the Children’s Ministry team met for Team Development and to minister to one another. During this time a new curriculum was chosen for our Wednesday afternoon program. The “Kid’s Carrying in the Kingdom” curriculum was selected using the “God Guides” method. We are very pleased to be incorporating such a valuable asset to our program! Kingdom Kids will launch on January 13th!!!
We would love to express our deepest appreciation to the Psalmist Sunday School class for their support of this ministry and to the Women’s coffee group who will be initiating a new program in the Kingdom Kids Wednesday program called “Huggers.” The ladies will be in the Fellowship Hall when the kiddos arrive to warmly greet them and show them love. We are so very blessed to have a church with the same values as Christ!
Come and be blessed! If you are interested in helping with any of the above programs, please contact Morgan Ramos, Children’s Ministry Director, at 325-893-4923!
On December 27th, we will have one combined service in the Sanctuary at 9:30 a.m. Fellowship Time will be at 9 a.m.! There will not be Sunday School on this day.
Sermon: “When the Vision is Fulfilled”
Scripture: Luke 1:57-80 & Luke 2:25-35
Join us this Christmas Eve for Lessons & Carols as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We will have a 7 p.m. Candlelight Service in our beautifully decorated Sanctuary. For unto us a child is born; unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulders. And His name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Happy Fall to All! This season is truly a time of transformation for creation. A time for what has been, to fall away and make room for new growth. The children will have the opportunity to grow in God’s Kingdom by showing their love to others. Starting November 1st – December 2nd, the children will be collecting non-perishable food items for Heart to Heart Ministries. All Kid-Mo children and Sunday School children will be participating in the food drive. On December 18th we will gather at the First Baptist Church of Clyde to assemble food boxes containing Christmas Dinner items, we will also pray over the boxes and declare goodness over the families who are being blessed with your contributions this Christmas.
Dear Friends of Clyde FUMC,
In case you missed it, I need to catch you up on something big: our Fellowship Hall is DEBT FREE!!!! When God fulfills His promises, like this one that He made in February, it is simply exciting! And exciting times call for one thing – celebration!
So we have a few special events coming up to help mark the occasion (all are in the Fellowship Hall):
Prayer and Praise this Sunday (Sept. 13) at 4:30pm. When I first moved to Clyde, I called for a couple of prayer nights where we specifically asked God to meet our financial concerns. Now that He has delivered in a very powerful way, it’s appropriate that we pause to say “Thank You!” This will be a unique Prayer and Praise service – it’s called Harp and Bowl worship, patterned after Revelation 5:8-9. I participated in one of these a few years ago at a NWTX Conference Prayer Summit at Ceta Canyon, and young and old appreciated the reflective, free, from-the-heart time of worship.
Combined Worship Service next Sunday (Sept. 20) at 10:30am, where we will dedicate our Fellowship Hall! We will celebrate how God used all of us to move that mountain of debt, and we want to give special attention to Dorothy Jean Edwards, as some momentum-shifting gifts were given in her memory. Come join us for this special celebration!
The John Wesley Adventure, Sunday (Sept. 27) at 10:30am, where Rev. Tom Fuller will tell the first installment of the exciting story of John Wesley’s life and the early days of the Methodist movement. Join us also for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings (Sept. 27-29) at 6:30pm for more of the amazing things Wesley did. Please be praying that we “would not be hearers only, but doers also of the Word” we will receive during this revival-type experience!
Again, our special schedule for September 20th and September 27th is as follows:
9:00am Coffee and Donuts Fellowship Time
9:30am Sunday School
10:30am Combined Worship Service in the Fellowship Hall
***(Note, we’ll be on our regular, 2-service schedule for this Sunday, Sep. 13th.)
Don’t miss this chance to party like … um, … Jesus would!
Only By Grace,
Pastor Clyde FUMC
We are excited about the new school year that has started, and with it, a new year of Kid-Mo! Kid-Mo is the name of our after-school program offered on Wednesdays from 3:30 – 5:30pm for Pre-K through 5th grade students in the Clyde area. We will launch again this year on Wednesday, September 9th!
Each Wednesday, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall of Clyde First United Methodist Church. (located at 217 Oak Street, across the street from the Clyde Police Department). If you would like for your child to ride with us from their school (Clyde Elementary or Clyde Intermediate), please call, email or come by the church office and request a “Transportation Authorization” form. You will need to complete the form and return it to their teacher and to the office of Clyde First United Methodist Church. You are welcome to drop your child off at the church after school at your convenience, as well. Please make sure they enter through the Fellowship Hall Door for attendance and registration.
Our typical Wednesday schedule begins at 3:30pm and will include three sections:
1) Snack time
2) Worship and learning about Jesus through music, activity and Bible instruction, and
3) Games, Sign Choir rehearsal, Prophetic Art, or Dream Team, depending on Grade.
The leadership team this year consists of Morgan Ramos (Children’s Ministry Coordinator), Ashley Barnett, Lea Noworatsky, Raechel Harvey, Donna Wagley, Gil Tabor and Sharon Hazard. Other team members include Kendra Kirksey, Jennifer Wilson, Laurie Wilson, Jill Morphis, Cynthia Gravens, Jessica Price, Jade Holmes, Wendy Edwards, Melinda Kirksey, Nichole Chappell, Patsy Work, Gaye Faircloth, and Sheri Arnold.
Pickup will be at 5:30pm at the Fellowship Hall Door, but keep in mind that you and your
family are welcome to join our other Wednesday evening activities… Adult Hand Bell Choir at 5:30pm, Adult Bible Study at 6:00pm, Chancel Choir at 6:34, and/or Youth group (grades 6-12) at 6:30pm. You are always welcome here!
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office at (325) 893-4923, Morgan Ramos at (325) 320-4504, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact us on Facebook at Clyde First United Methodist Church. In Christ’s Great Love,
Morgan Ramos, Director of Children’s Ministry
August 19th at 5:30 pm, with the partnership of many of our local churches, we welcome you to join us in prayer for our schools. Meet at the front of your preferred campus (High School, Junior High, Intermediate, or Elementary) to encircle that campus with the presence of our Father and offer prayers of support for school, staff and students.
Today’s students, parents and staff face a new set of challenges and choices regarding their future and our community’s issues. Let us gather together to make an impact toward building the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth. Matthew 18:20 (NIV) “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Summer Sunshine For Your Soul
(Written by: CVDaily Editors)
Summer is here, but as the days are heating up, do you find your faith growing cold? It can be tempting to trade time with God for that pool party or barbecue! But don’t let your faith burn out just because it’s time for summer break. Pack your picnic bag with these faith essentials, and stay burning bright for Jesus all summer long!
Sunscreen—Prayer. Cover yourself with prayer every day for protection from burnout.
Snacks—Scripture. Taste and see the Lord is good all summer by packing your favorite Scripture verses with you in bite-sized pieces to nibble on throughout the day.
Sunglasses—Focus. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and you won’t be blinded by temptations that distract you from following your faith.
Beach mat—Rest. Take a break from stress…and find your rest in Jesus.
